The Bible Column - God is our Rock

“He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.” Deuteronomy 32:4
In a day when on every hand there is conflict, unrest, and unstabling matters we have a solid rock that we can stand on. I once heard of a preacher who told his congregation that they must not be trusting in him for their strength and blessing, but that they must have their full confidence in the Lord. While we as people in any level of our society need to be trustworthy before our fellowman, nevertheless each of us must likewise be trusting in the “Rock of Heaven”.
In the Scripture above, the word “Rock” speaks of the Almighty strength and stability of our God. It speaks of the fact that He can be counted upon. This “Rock” will always be there for anyone who sincerely places their trust in Him. This “Rock” is always only a prayer away.
Then we learn that the work of the Lord is perfect, all His ways are according to proper judgment, He is truthful and without any wrongdoing…and He is just and right. Dear friend, are you trusting in the Lord for His help in the affairs of this life? Only the Divine help will suffice. Only Almighty God can see us through life and into eternity! He is truly the Rock!
