The Bible Column - Election Consideration

“And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech. II Kings 23:10
“Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?... And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)” Ezekiel 16:20-23
“And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great conflict and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.” Nehemiah 1:3
As we near the national 2018 mid-term elections, we need to be mindful of what God sets forth in His word to guide any society in the way of righteousness and safety! The Scriptures above are a sample that set forth divine direction for our learning, if we will! The subjects at hand, are that of the murder and sacrifice of children, and walls or barriers of protection and salvation and blessing around cities and regions of dwelling!
In the first Scriptures, we learn that regarding children, it is no small thing with God to slay His little ones, and to sacrifice them to be devoured! And as the woes of God are pronounced against these killings and the whoredoms which produce the reasons to devour these little ones, the world tries to figure out how to salve their conscience by falsely determining in their own mind when life really begins! Authentic medical research tells us that the baby at 1 day after conception is .005 inches long and is very much alive in the womb! At that point, he or she is smaller than a grain of sugar, but the instructions from God are already present for all that this person will ever become!
Then in the last Scripture above, the presence of a wall around the city of Jerusalem, in the year BC 446, is identified! Clearly the wisdom of a wall or barrier for protection for us and our loved ones is not a new concept! …and it is the concept that is employed in the construction of the houses in which we live, complete with locks on our doors! With that wall and lock of protection, we can more easily control who may or may not enter our family area! When we, in our sense of judgement, determine that any person is seeking unlawful entry into our rightful space, we with a wall and a lock, have an increased possibility of refusing their entry and intrusion! Surely, the same principle for the protection of our nation’s borders would be greatly beneficial to our citizens safety and our national sovereignty!
Clearly, the wisdom of God regarding matters of our lives, to include these and many more, here unnamed matters, would serve us well, as we go to the voting booth! Through experience we know that what our leaders believe, also determines how they govern us, when elected!
