The Bible Column - Remembering Veterans

“And unto Adam he said…in sorrow shalt thou eat...Thorns also and thistles…In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread…” Genesis 3:17-19
“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” II Thessalonians 3:10
“But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” I Timothy 5:8
In these Scriptures of God inspirited writ, we learn a simple axiom…the fact of a societies’ eating and provision to be intrinsically linked to that same societies’ able bodied men working to provide that provision for their own house! Simply stated, the God ordained method is family and private enterprise centered…each family working together to feed themselves! The United States Constitution and Bill of Rights were established and written with these Biblical axioms in concept.
The converse method for a societies provision, centers in all people having all things common, organized and distributed by a few at the helm of the decision making process! This is the philosophy and attempted activity of the plans and programs of those who, today in America, go by the name “Progressive”. The word “Progressive” sounds upbeat, advanced, and valuable. In reality, it is the newest term for the old concept of humanism, socialism, and communism! This is the promotion of big government, federally controlled high taxation and regulation, and minimal distribution portions, sometimes through the barrel of a dictator’s gun!
This Veterans Day, we remember those Veterans, both living and deceased who have fought and travailed in battle and war, to protect and preserve our freedom and the original American way of life! We honor and salute each one for their service and sacrifice for us!
