The Bible Column - God's Perfect Peace

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah 26:3
“For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.” Isaiah 26:21
Please notice that, 1) The above two verses are found in the very same chapter in the Bible, and 2) The content of each verse is so very different, the one from the other. Please examine the verses further with me.
Here, like many other passage in the Bible, both the goodness and severity of the Lord are seen. Romans 11:22 The combined thought expresses the recipe of the Lord for needed peace in light of the coming judgement of Almighty God, during the Great Tribulation period. This recipe for peace in light of coming judgment is ample direction and warning for each of us, as well, that we might turn to the Lord in our preparation for the future.
Notice too, the extent of the abiding peace in verse 3 and the extent of the extensive punishment in verse 21. Here, the Bible explains that the Lord will come out of his place with punishment. Many folks have the false notion that God is not aware of the happenings on earth. May we clearly see that Almighty God is very much aware and will very soon come out his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity.
Far Better, The Lord’s Peace,
Than, The Lord’s Punishment!
Which is it for you today, dear reading friend?
“But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.” Psalm 130:4
