The Bible Column - God uses weather to fullfill His will (Part 1)

“There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah. And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth. In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.” Genesis 7:9-12
“And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in. And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. And all flesh died that moved upon the earth…” Genesis 7:16-21a “And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.” Genesis 7:24
“Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word.” Psalms 148:7-8
“Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.” Psalms 42:7
“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:25-26
The Scriptures quoted above tell that God uses the weather in all its aspects to fulfill his word in the earth and in the hearts of mankind! For the last month and one-half, or so, the Lord has accomplished another example of fulfilling his word through weather and related events.
Can you imagine the Noahic Flood? I am so glad that in our local area as yet, we have been spared harsh storm and flood, for the most part. Not far in most every direction, folks have suffered loss.
