The Bible Column - The Bible gives us direction in life!

“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Psalms 119:130
There may be those reading “The Bible Column” who are truly interested in knowing what the Bible says. The Scripture above tells us that if we take in the words of God, they will give light and understanding on any subject. The word “simple” speaks of one who is either deceived or is unaware of the truth. Each of us before learning a certain truth, would truly be called “simple” in this context. Here, it is not a matter of limited intellect but rather limited knowledge.
There is no shame in not knowing or not being aware of some particular truth. The real shame is when it is possible for us to learn about a matter and we are either lazy or stubborn in learning or receiving truth. Humanly, we may observe a matter and think that all is well. But, then as the wisdom of God is learned, we find that our human reasoning and understanding is faulty. If our heart is right, we then are willing to change our thinking to align with the Word of God.
In our present day, the Lord has provided all that is necessary to know His truth. In a most basic way, each one of us can own a copy of the Word of God for our very own.
