The Bible Column - Psalms 100
“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting: and his truth endureth to all generations.” Psalms 100
The clear admonition of the Bible is that the saints of God in the Old Testament and born-again believers in the New Testament would praise the Lord for his goodness! It is likewise fitting that the unsaved would be grateful to the creator God for their blessings of earth and life as well!
In the Psalm above, the direction to make a joyful noise unto the Lord is first given. Then, the privilege of serving the Lord, and singing unto the Lord is followed by the knowledge that the God of heaven has made us. Worship with thanksgiving is then directed, and the knowledge that the Lord is good and merciful is told. Finally, the promise that God’s truth would endure to all generations.
Also, many New Testament references tell of the present possessions of those who are “in Christ”. Please take the time with an open Bible to study this list of marvelous truths from God’s word.
