The Bible Column - The Way of Eternal Life (Part 1)

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:14-15
“Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 20:21
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” I John 5:13
No doubt, the best kept secret in all the world is that of folks knowing how to obtain eternal life. Many if not all religions promise some type of valuable destiny for their followers. Each has a guidebook or set of dogmas, which if adhered to, promise to bring the followers to the desired end. At Rossville Bible Church, we believe that the Word of God in the Bible is the only responsible source for learning about living life both today and into eternity.
The scriptures above speak about how we can know that we have eternal life. They explain that having eternal life is the present position of the born again believer. They give the conditions that must be met by each one who desires to know that they are really saved. They show the simplicity of the gospel message to a lost and dying world.
In the next articles of The Bible Column, I want to further consider the verses above. The wonderful Gospel of Christ saves to the uttermost those who come to God by him. Hebrews 7:25 The clear knowledge of how to receive this salvation is the eternal question!
