The Bible Column - Trust in the Lord
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
“And we know that all things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
These verses speak of the proper spiritual activity and confidence that every born again believer in the Lord Jesus needs to have in their lives. In troubling times and good times, the Lord is worthy to be trusted. His way is perfect, His word is sure, and His love for us is everlasting.
The Believer is directed to have complete trust in the Lord’s plan and ability; to set aside any leaning to their own understanding; to recognize the Lord’s preeminence in life’s way; and to know that the Lord will then properly guide from day to day. When matters of life are pleasant or when our days are full of trial, we know through confidence in the Lord’s providence, that God is directing every part of our lives for our good and His glory.
Some believers live in victory over sin and despair while some fall prey to Satan’s temptations to doubt God’s tender care. Which of these, dear reading friend, describes your life today?
